Delta Lambda Celebrates 107 Years of Excellence: Honoring Our Legacy, Embracing Our Future
As we reflect on this milestone charter month, we celebrate not only our rich history but also the dynamic work our brothers continue to accomplish today. This past year has been marked by exceptional programming, meaningful service, and transformative leadership across our chapter.
A Year of Impact and Service
In March, our chapter came together for a morning of reflection, fellowship, and community leadership at our Annual Lenten Prayer Breakfast hosted at Forum Caterers. Under the spiritual guidance of our Chapter Chaplain, Brother Dr. Marco Merrick, brothers gathered to renew their commitment to faith, service, and the principles that guide our fraternity.
Later that month, on Monday, March 30, 2026, Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated gathered to support the 22nd Annual Alpha Night In Annapolis. This collaborative effort between the Mid-Atlantic Association of Alpha Chapters and the Delta Lambda Chapter brought brothers together with legislators, political advocates, and community partners to address critical local issues. We were honored to connect with distinguished Alpha leaders including Brother Governor Wes Moore and Brother Senator Charles Sydnor, III. This impactful evening was organized by MAAC Leadership and our Political Action Chair, Brother Mask-Oats, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to political engagement and community advocacy.
In May, Brother Kama Tillman led our successful "A Day at the Vineyard" event at Boordy Vineyards, bringing together brothers, supporters, and friends for an afternoon of fellowship and fundraising that supports the Delta Lambda Foundation's vital community programs.
Our chapter's commitment to excellence extended beyond Maryland this spring when Brother Louis Randall led the IT Committee at the 94th Annual Eastern Regional Convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey. His exceptional leadership ensured seamless technology integration throughout the five-day event, exemplifying the innovation and technical excellence that define Alpha Phi Alpha in the 21st century.
Leadership That Matters
We are especially proud of our Chapter President, Brother Ryan Turner, who is currently running for Delegate in District 41. Brother Turner recently received the endorsement from Brandon Scott, Mayor of Baltimore, reflecting the respect and confidence our broader community has in Alpha leadership. His campaign represents our fraternity's continued dedication to servant leadership and political engagement.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate our 107th anniversary, we invite the community to join us on Friday, May 30th, for the Delta Lambda Chapter's Annual Beautillion Scholars Program Gala. This evening honors a remarkable group of young Black men whose excellence, leadership, and character set the stage for their next chapter. This event is more than a tradition; it's a tribute to their hard work, growth, and bright futures.
From 1919 to 2026, Delta Lambda has remained First of All, Leading the Way. As we honor our past and embrace our future, we remain committed to the timeless mission of Alpha Phi Alpha: developing leaders, serving communities, and uplifting humanity.
